Brazosport Regional Health System broke ground on February 28 in Brazoria for a new primary care facility. The new facility, “Brazosport Regional Family Medicine Center” will be located at 1525 North Brooks Street, next to TDECU.

TDECU recently donated 1.5 acres of land to Brazosport Regional to expand their services within Brazoria. This generous donation supported Brazosport Regional’s vision to open a family practice. “We are truly grateful for the land donation and their on-going support,” remarked Dan Buche, President and CEO of Brazosport Regional. “Their contribution will benefit both the health system and the city of Brazoria; particularly as the need for family practice and primary care medicine continues to grow.“

Brazosport Regional has consistently remained steadfast in their mission of investing their financial resources into medical care throughout the area. In 2007, Brazosport Regional opened their first Urgent Care Center, which provides unscheduled, urgent, non life threatening medical care for patients that need immediate assistance. Late 2007, they announced expansion projects for both the Cancer Center and Cardiac Care Center. The Cancer Center expansion will significantly increase the number of patients that can be treated as well as offer state of the art radiation therapy technology. The Cardiac Care Center expansion will considerably increase their cardiac care services and will include the capability to provide cardiothoracic and cardiovascular procedures. Now, with nearly 3,000 people in Brazoria, Brazosport Regional is opening a Family Medicine Center to meet the community’s primary health care needs.

Scheduled to open in September of 2008, the Family Medicine Center will be a state of the art facility which will assess and treat a wide range of medical conditions and provide comprehensive healthcare for the entire family. The goal of the medicine center is to deliver high-quality patient care in the most professional way possible.

The 2,200 square foot modern-day facility will contain four large exam rooms; one of which was specially designed for pediatrics. In addition, there is a small waiting room outside the pediatrics exam room for family members that accompany the child. The facility will also have a spacious lobby with an atmosphere to make you feel right at home.

“We are committed to providing services throughout the county, “stated Buche. “This addition underscores our dedication to supplying resources and physicians to meet our community’s medical needs.”
