Brazosport Regional Health System
Celebrated National Wear Red Day

On Friday, February 4th, Brazosport Regional Health System celebrated National Wear Red Day by asking everyone to wear RED. The GO RED for women campaign is sponsored by the American Heart Association and is used to bring awareness to heart disease in women. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one killer of women, taking the life of one in three women every year.

Participation in this event united employees and raised awareness about heart disease in women. The annual American Heart Association GO RED for women event will be held on June 7, 2011. Donations raised for GO RED for women are used to support efforts that educate women and fund research. Since 2004, $44 million has been raised to fund women-focused research on heart disease, educate and raise awareness about heart disease in women.
