There are over 12 million American men and women that are affected by urinary incontinence. Women often have problems with bladder infections, frequency, urgency, and even incontinence. Incontinence occurs when there is an inability to control the release of urine from the bladder. There are several reasons incontinence occurs, pregnancy and child birth, changes with aging, hysterectomy, painful bladder syndrome (interstitial cystitis), prostatitis, enlarged prostate, prostate cancer, bladder cancer or bladder stones. More than 80 percent of cases can be helped or cured, sometimes with simple behavioral changes.

Whether it’s urinary symptoms or enlarged prostate, almost all men face urologic problems as they age. Enlarged prostate symptoms include slowness or dribbling while urinating, hesitancy or difficulty when starting to urinate, frequent urination, feeling of urgency or sudden need to urinate, feeling the incomplete bladder emptying, or the need to get up at night to urinate. There’s no need to suffer, there are a variety of effective treatment options available. Men – and their partners are invited to learn about the latest options.

From the latest treatments for a leaky bladder to what men need to know about their prostate gland, board-certified urologist Dr. Berger will provide information that will benefit your whole family. Learn the basics about these bothersome condition and the latest treatments on April 20 in the classrooms at 6:00 PM. For additional information, please call 979-285-1824.
