Local Gastroenterologist Receives High Honors



        Brazosport Regional Health System is proud to announce that Gastroenterologist, Khanh Ngoc Le, M.D. from The GI Center is now certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). ABIM certifies one out of every third practicing physicians in the United States. Dr. Le is now board certified in both specialty of Internal Medicine and subspecialty of Gastroenterology.

        ABIM’s mission is to enhance the quality of health care by certifying internist and subspecialists who demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential for excellent patient care. According to ABIM, there are over 185,000 valid certificates and is one of the highest standards in internal medicine and its 18 subspecialties.

        To receive such high-esteems, practicing physicians must demonstrate their competency in six key areas including patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and system-based practice. In addition, they must pass a challenging exam as well as update their certification every 10 years.

        With 23,708 Internal Medicine residents and 9,830 subspecialty fellows in the United States, Dr. Le is one of the finest. Brazosport Regional and The GI Center are thrilled to have him on staff.
