Following are two departments and services directory alternatives. This page would not be included in the hospital's Web site, but was inserted to allow access to both of the directory options. On the final site, the selected directory would be displayed when the Departments and Services menu item was selected.

Option 1 – A single-column directory, utilizing a Lotus Notes database containing the department and service entries:      View the HTML Version  View the HTML Version with More Information link  View the JAVA Version     Benefits: The directory can be easily sorted by any criteria the hospital chooses. Links to the departments and services are automatically generated, which makes the directory easier to create and maintain. Phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses can be placed on the directory page if the hospital chooses. Option 2 – A simple HTML page featuring a multi-column departments and services directory created using links placed within a table.               Benefit: The departments and services links can be placed in multiple columns, indented, and put in any order the hospital chooses. Some prefer the way this looks over Option 1. Drawback: This type of directory is more difficult to maintain since the links are not automatically generated.
