Family Medicine Center in Lake Jackson
Set To Open July 18
Brazosport Regional Health System is proud to announce the upcoming opening of the Family Medicine Center in Lake Jackson. The Family Medicine Center will provide high-quality, primary care medicine to the Brazosport community.
The new Family Medicine Center, along with the one in Brazoria, is in response to the community’s growing healthcare needs. As the community has grown, the demand for healthcare services has outpaced the number of physicians providing care in the local area.
The Center will be led by board-certified physician April Day and will offer comprehensive primary care for the entire family. Dr. Day earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed her family medicine residency at the Corpus Christi Family Practice Residency Program. Since then, she has been working as a physician partner at a Family Medicine Center in Garland, Texas.
“Family physicians are dedicated to treating the whole person, they take the disease and look at it from a broad perspective, rather than focusing on just one area,” explained Scott Briner, VP of Professional Services and physician recruiter for the health system. “Dr. Day, as well as other family practitioners, focuses on integrated care and when specialists are needed, the family practitioners make referrals and then pull all the information together to help coordinate overall care.”
The Family Medicine Center provides two convenient locations for the community. From regular health maintenance through wellness visits and preventative care to medical concerns, the medical professionals at the Family Medicine Center are committed to you throughout every stage of your life. The Family Medicine Center is able to identify and treat common medical problems including cold/flu symptoms, chronic problems, diabetes care, physicals, ear/throat aches, vaccinations/immunizations, annual blood work, women’s health, obesity management, mental illness and much more.
The new Family Medicine Center, located at 208 Oak Drive, Suite 200, is a 4,500 square foot facility complete with 11 exam rooms and 4 physician offices.
