On August 4th, Brazosport Regional officially opened a brand new surgery waiting area for their patients’ families and visitors. The warm, welcoming atmosphere with fresh new color schemes creates a waiting area for families to relax and unwind during their loved ones surgical procedures.
In April 2009, the Brazosport Regional Volunteers donated $50,000 to Brazosport Health Foundation. The donation, made possible through sales at the gift shop, was used toward completing the construction of the new surgery waiting area.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests in the old waiting room were officially escorted to the new waiting area by volunteers. The large surgery waiting area features new furniture and artwork, a flat screen TV, and a refreshment area where hot coffee will be served. A separate consultation room is also available in the new waiting area to add comfort and privacy for the physician and their patients’ families.
“The renovation of the waiting area wouldn’t be possible without the hard work from team members at Brazosport Regional and our dedicated volunteers,” remarked Daniel Buche, CEO/President of BRHS. “I would like to thank our volunteers for their donation and everyone who helped make the waiting area a much more comfortable environment for the families of our patients.”
