Foundation Announces Tuxedo Sponsor for Bluebonnet Social Club
February 15, 2012 – Brazosport Health Foundation announced Texas Dow Employee Credit Union as the $25,000 Tuxedo Sponsor for the 2012 Bluebonnet Social Club. TDECU has been a long-time supporter of Brazosport Regional Health System contributing nearly $120,000 for continuing high quality healthcare and 1.5 acres in Brazoria to open a primary care facility. Foundation Unveils Headline Entertainer for Bluebonnet Social Club

BRHS Offers the Latest in Breast Cancer Screening
November 30, 2011 – Brazosport Regional Health System is one of the first healthcare providers in the United States to offer breast cancer screening with a Selenia® Dimensions® 2D full field digital mammography system. The Selenia Dimensions 2D system is the latest generation of mammography equipment from Hologic, the world leader in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Click here to read more.

Foundation Raises $30,000 for Thorpe Nursing Scholarship
November 4, 2011 – Brazosport Health Foundation, a division of Brazosport Regional Health System, raised $30,000 for their nursing scholarship fund. The scholarship program is named in honor of Adelaide Thorpe, a community member who has volunteered at Brazosport Regional for nearly 50 years. Click here to read more.

Foundation Host Event to Meet New Healthcare Providers
October 31, 2011 - Brazosport Health Foundation recently hosted a wine and cheese social at the home of Jennifer Monical to introduce community women to several new female healthcare providers in the Lake Jackson and Brazoria area. The new providers are affiliated with Brazosport Regional Health System and their specialties include family medicine; geriatrics; ear, nose, throat; pediatrics; and gynecological surgery. Foundation Announces Kick-Off for Annual Community Campaign
October 20, 2011 –The Brazosport Health Foundation, the nonprofit organization that builds philanthropic support for Brazosport Regional Health System, officially launched its Annual Giving Campaign, “support your local hospital”, on October 17, 2011. The goal of the campaign is to raise $50,000 for the hospital’s renovation projects of the inpatient areas to provide all private rooms on every floor. During the campaign, local businesses and community members are asked to provide financial support to help Brazosport Regional Health System to better serve the community. Foundation Awards Thorpe Scholarship
August 25, 2011 – Brazosport College student, Teresa Rooks, has been named a 2011 recipient of Brazosport Health Foundation’s prestigious Adelaide R. Thorpe Scholarship. The Scholarship was founded in 2007 as a tribute to Mrs. Thorpe in recognition of her 60-plus years of volunteer leadership and philanthropy at Brazosport Regional Health System. The Mermaid Project Bench Donated to Cancer Center
July 25, 2011 – The Cancer Center at Brazosport Regional Health System is the recipient of The Mermaid Bench created by Kelly Gale Amen Design. The Mermaid Bench along with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Honoring the Promise Collection Bench, donated in 2009, will sit outside of the Cancer Center for patients and their families to enjoy. Local Cruise Helps Raise Funds for Breast Healthcare
June 21, 2011 – Recently, a group of 28 women boarded the Royal Caribbean Voyager in Galveston to raise money for local breast healthcare. The group came together to raise funds and awareness for The Mermaid Project, a program that provides free breast education and breast healthcare to medically underserved men and women in Southern Brazoria County. Adelaide R. Thorpe Scholarship Recipient Graduates
June 10, 2011 – Rhonda Sexton, the first recipient of the Adelaide R. Thorpe Scholarship Fund, recently graduated from Brazosport College. The scholarship fund was founded in 2007 by Brazosport Health Foundation as a tribute to Adelaide Thorpe in honor of her unprecedented dedication to Brazosport Regional Health System. April 15, 2011 – Brazosport Health Foundation announced today that they were able to raise over $20,000 at Fashion Fantasy: Passport to Paris, an event to raise funds for The Mermaid Project, a program that provides free breast education and breast healthcare to medically underserved men and women in Southern Brazoria County. Fashion Fantasy: Passport to Paris
February 11, 2011 – Bonjour! Trendy fashions and styles are headed down the runway this April, but you don’t have to go to New York or Paris to see them. The lights, music and fast-paced action can be found at the 3rd biennial Fashion Fantasy: Passport to Paris at the Lake Jackson Civic Center on Friday, April 8 at five o’clock in the evening.
