Tree of Remembrance Ceremony at Brazosport Regional
Draws Large Crowd

On Wednesday, December 5, the Brazosport Regional Volunteers and the community came together to remember loved ones who were lost over the years. The Annual Tree of Remembrance Ceremony was well attended by the community, volunteers, and administration at Brazosport Regional Health System.
The event consisted of a welcome speech by Brazosport Regional Volunteer President, Mary Monroe, an invocation by Mr. Ron Bullion, Volunteer Chaplin, and a welcome speech by Dan Buche, CEO at Brazosport Regional, where he welcomed all attendees, introduced the board of directors and graciously expressed his gratitude for everyone attending the ceremony.
Entertainment for the event was provided by the Lake Jackson Intermediate School Choir, as they performed heart-warming Christmas songs. Sammy Davis, Biomedical Manager at Brazosport Regional and Debbie Fiegener, both sang beautiful solos in remembrance of loved ones. Bill Baskin, Volunteer of Brazosport Regional, also led the assembly in a few carols.
Soon after, Evelyne Demland lit the tree in remembrance of her husband Jim, who was a faithful volunteer until his passing in 2005. As the tree lit with sparkling lights, everyone had time to honor their loved one and sing Silent Night.
Contributions to the Tree of Remembrance are accepted all year long by Elaine Whiteside, Tree of Remembrance Chairwoman. After contributing, you may specify a white light in memory of a loved one or a colored light in honor of a special person in your life. A donation of $5.00 puts a light on the tree and shines in perpetuity for your loved one. A roster of recipients and contribution forms are kept at the Main Information desk at Brazosport Regional throughout the year in a notebook for easy viewing.
