Special Presentation of Woven Harmony Slated for Local Cancer Patients, Cancer Survivors and Caregivers at
Brazosport Regional Health System

On Thursday, February, 14 at 3:00pm, Brazosport Regional Health System and the Brazosport Health Foundation will feature a special presentation, Woven Harmony. This is a special performance, free of charge, for cancer patients, cancer survivors and their caregivers. Woven Harmony is a multi-media presentation by nationally recognized husband and wife team Robert Bluestone, classical guitarist and caretaker; and Rebecca Bluestone, tapestry artist and ovarian cancer survivor.

Their presentation, “State of Grace” evolved out of their desire to use their artistic expression as a way to communicate about the things that they feel are truly important in life and to share how creativity and imagination can allow us access to connection, empathy and compassion.

Robert Bluestone has earned an international reputation as an artist and enlightens his audience by his charm, wit, and humor. Robert is committed to bringing his music to people through residencies with warmth, creativity, and compassion. He loves to play anywhere that music will bring joy and ease burdens. Rebecca Bluestone is a contemporary abstract artist using traditional tapestry techniques with hand-dyed silks of varied textures and sheens and metallic thread woven on a cotton warp. Her art is displayed across the country including, Museum of Arts & Design in New York, Chicago Art Institute, Denver Art Museum and many others.

Together, they will share their artistry, relationship and experience with cancer and caretaking to create an environment of positive transformation. Their performance addresses dealing with fear and death, dealing with changing physical appearance & the psychological effects of cancer treatment, supporting the caretaker, and how to effectively be helpful to the cancer patient.

This extraordinary presentation has taken place across the U.S. and is now coming to Lake Jackson, TX. The event will be held at Brazosport Regional Health System in the lobby of the Dow Women’s Center on the 1st floor on Valentine’s Day at 3:00pm. This event is limited seating.
