Dr. Berger Speaks at Community Education
Program on ED
Lake Jackson, TX – October 10, 2007 – Dr. Berger, Urologist at Brazosport Urology, will be speaking about erectile dysfunction (ED) at Brazosport Regional Health System’s October’s community education program. ED, formally known as impotence, affects an average of 15 to 30 million American men. Although ED can be treatable for men of all ages, it can be harmful to a man’s self-image.
ED is defined as the inability to obtain an erection long enough to participate in sexual intercourse and is most often found in men over the age of 65. However, ED can occur at any age and can interfere with sexual relationships leading to low self-esteem. This disease can also be a sign of physical and emotional problems.
Physical factors play a large role in ED including cardiovascular disorders, certain prescription medications, operation for cancer of the prostate, injuries of the spinal cord, multiple sclerosis, hormonal disorders, and diabetes. In fact, 30 to 50 percent of men who are diagnosed with ED have diabetes. Other factors that cause ED are psychological issues including stress, depression, anxiety, and fatigue.
The presentation, “Straight Talk about ED. Drug Free Treatment for ED,” will hit key topics including facts to know about ED, medical treatment, and surgical treatment for ED. Dr. Berger’s presentation will be held on Wednesday, October 17 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Lake Jackson Civic Center in plaza 2. To RSVP, please call Wendy Conner at 979-285-1824.
