BRHS Welcomes Radiation Oncologist, Angel Blanco, MD to the Brazosport Regional Cancer Center
 A new Radiation Oncologist joins Brazosport Regional Health System. Angel Blanco, M.D. recently joined the South Texas Radiation Therapy Associates, the physician group that provides Radiation Oncology services at the Brazosport Regional Cancer Center.
Dr. Blanco received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. While pursing his B.S., he received high honors including the Presidential Scholar (1991) award and joined the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa (1994). In 1999, he graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX with his M.D. Dr. Blanco spent four years in residency training where he specialized in Radiation Oncology.
In 2004, Dr. Blanco served as an Assistant Professor, Division of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas Medical Center. After the academic year, he returned to Atlanta where he practiced at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. After two years of service, Dr. Blanco returned to Texas where he currently practices at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston.
Dr. Blanco was selected as Assistant Chief Resident (2002-2003) and Chief Resident (2003-2004) from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology. On top of the honors he has received, Dr. Blanco has written several publications, book chapters, and has presented at national conferences. He is involved with the American Association of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and National Cancer Institute.
Dr. Blanco strives to provide patients with efficient, compassionate, and highly specialized technical care. He and his wife, Monica, reside in Houston with his two children Teresa and Julian. He enjoys reading, jogging, biking, and football.
